I am now retired from the NHS and am really happy working for an organisation which makes a difference to people who have ambition but may not have the networks which can make things happen. We give them that opportunity!
Andy Leary (treasurer)
I am a senior manager with over 34 years’ experience of the NHS. My career in healthcare finance is extensive and covers experience in many different types of NHS organisations.
I have a proven track record of effective leadership and facilitating change in challenging environments whilst delivering targets and achieving financial objectives.
Currently the Chair of Better Care Together, the transformational programme for health and social care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, I have over 13 years’ Non Executive experience on Boards in the NHS. With a first class degree from Loughborough University, I have spent my career in employee engagement, change management and people development and have over 20 years consultancy experience.
I have a passion for bringing the best out of people, teams and organisations.
After working as a designer for Pringle of Scotland, Geraldine ran her own design consultancy for over thirty years. This involved specific company ranges and working for large agencies on design predictions across a wide range of products in Europe, India, and New Zealand. In addition she worked as an Associate to the University of Northumbria for ten years and was involved with CNNA and external examining on BA Hons courses.
Since retiring she has worked on a voluntary basis helping with buying and merchandising for the local cooperative Fair Trade shop.
Felicity is a Trustee of AQA, Chair of their Curriculum and Quality Committee and member of the Council Business Group. She also works as a part-time consultant supporting small Multi Academy Trusts.
Until the end of 2016, Felicity was CEO of the Fylde Coast Academy Trust and the Fylde Coast Teaching School. As a National Leader of Education, she was Executive Principal of Unity Academy and Montgomery High School, Blackpool. From 2004 to 2014 she was Principal of The Blackpool Sixth Form College, taking the college from an Ofsted rating of ‘Satisfactory’ to ‘Outstanding’. She oversaw a significant change to the curriculum including the introduction of a flexible curriculum model that allowed students to mix vocational and academic study, a 50% growth in student recruitment, a rise in results and the numbers accessing HE, a rebrand of the college, and a rebuild of 80% of the estate at a cost of £29 million.
She has worked as a part-time Ofsted Inspector of English and Modern Languages, and was a member of the EFA Advisory Board.
I have worked for the public sector since leaving university, either for the local authority or the NHS. I have worked across commissioning functions of the public sector, leading redesign and service transformation across multiple organisations whilst holding responsibility for significant multi-sector commissioning budgets. I hold a Masters degree in Public Leadership & Management from the University of Warwick Business School and am in the process of applying for a PhD in Behavioural Economics. My contacts are primarily within the public sector but I also have key links into financial organisations and various consultancy firms.
